Siobhan Reilly, PhD.Log10 Founder & CEO
Dr. Siobhan Reilly is the Founder and CEO of Log10. With over 25 years of experience in industrial food safety, food microbiology, and probiotic research, Dr. Reilly is a internationally recognized expert in the detection, control, and remediation of pathogens in food and environmental systems. Dr. Reilly earned her Ph.D. in Food Science and Microbiology from Oklahoma State University, where she conducted pioneering research on Campylobacter jejuni and probiotic survivability. She previously managed OSU’s renowned probiotic laboratory and collaborated closely with Dr. Stanley Gilliland, a global leader in probiotic science. Over the course of her career, Dr. Reilly has developed multiple accredited microbiology laboratories, directed extensive applied research programs, and led pathogen control initiatives for food manufacturers across the globe. Since founding Log10 in 2013, she has guided the company’s growth into a full-service, ISO 17025-accredited laboratory and FDA-registered fermentation and manufacturing facility. Under her leadership, Log10 has developed proprietary probiotic blends and custom remediation strategies that support clients ranging from small processors to multinational food companies. Her consulting work includes process validation, HACCP and FSMA compliance, shelf-life and challenge studies, forensic microbiology, and food plant sanitation optimization. Dr. Reilly is an invited speaker and published researcher, with scientific contributions in peer-reviewed journals and presentations around the world, including for USDA/FAS and international food safety workshops. Her career has focused on providing practical, science-backed solutions to reduce foodborne illness and ensure the safety of food products in both human and animal markets. She is a member of the International Association of Food Protection, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the Pet Food Institute. |
Michele ShewmakerChief Operating Officer
Michele Shewmaker serves as Chief Operating Officer at Log10, where she oversees all company operations including laboratory services, technical and client services, and quality assurance. With over 30 years of experience in food safety and quality systems, Michele brings a deep understanding of both scientific and operational excellence to the Log10 leadership team. Her career began in analytical labs at Primus Laboratories, eventually advancing into leadership roles at J-M Farms, Walmart’s Global Procurement and Food Safety divisions, and Blue Buffalo’s Heartland manufacturing facility. Her expertise spans HACCP development, GFSI compliance, regulatory programs, sanitation, and probiotic applications for pathogen control. Since joining Log10 in 2017, Michele has helped expand the company’s capabilities and client services, playing a key role in driving efficiency, innovation, and strategic growth. She is a certified HACCP Instructor with the International HACCP Alliance, a Preventive Controls Lead Instructor for both human and animal food, and has served on the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Technical Committee, including as Chair of its Emerging Markets Working Group. Michele is passionate about supporting clients with science-based solutions that improve food safety, product integrity, and brand protection. Her leadership is grounded in practical experience, strategic vision, and a commitment to advancing global food safety standards. |
Miriam VelascoSenior Research Microbiologist
Miriam Velasco has been a vital member of the Log10 team since 2014, serving as a Senior Research Microbiologist. Originally from Mexico, Miriam brings extensive academic and applied experience to her role, where she leads and supports a wide range of microbiological research initiatives critical to food safety and quality. At Log10, Miriam is involved in multiple core scientific functions, including microbiological testing, client and staff training, applied research, and the execution of challenge studies—with and without probiotics. She also conducts validation studies using both pathogens and surrogate organisms, performs forensic microbiological investigations, and works on probiotic isolation and development projects. Miriam holds a degree in Engineering in Agro-Chemistry, a specialty certification in Organic Agriculture, and a Master’s degree in Food Science. Her diverse background equips her to tackle complex microbial challenges with a robust understanding of food systems and scientific rigor. While she has received awards for her work in Mexico, she modestly continues to focus on her contributions at Log10. Passionate about continuous learning and applied science, Miriam values the opportunity to expand her expertise while advancing Log10’s mission. Julianie MartinezLaboratory Manager
Julianie Martinez serves as Log10’s Laboratory Manager, a role she has held since joining the company in 2019. Originally from Puerto Rico, Julianie has over five years of experience in the industry in a food quality assurance role and more than six years of laboratory expertise. She now resides in Oklahoma with her husband, daughter, and their dog, Thunder. At Log10, Julianie oversees all laboratory operations, including the management of routine sample processing, client reporting, team supervision, scheduling, and inventory control. She also plays a key role in supporting fermentation processes within the lab. Known for her leadership and commitment to quality, Julianie is passionate about helping her team succeed and continuously seeks opportunities to enhance lab efficiency and scientific rigor. Julianie holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Industrial Chemical Processes and a master’s degree in Environmental Management, with an additional year of specialized training in manufacturing. She has completed numerous industry certifications, including HACCP, SQF Practitioner, FSPCA Preventive Controls for Animal Food, and multiple ISO/IEC 17025:2017 laboratory quality systems trainings. Julianie is driven by a deep passion for science and a strong belief in the role of food safety in protecting public health. She finds her work at Log10 especially rewarding because it merges technical expertise with purpose—helping to ensure the safety and integrity of the food supply through rigorous laboratory testing and collaboration. |
Chad HaywardSenior Quality and Food Safety Manager
Chandler Hayward joined Log10 in 2024 as the Senior Quality and Food Safety Manager, bringing over two decades of experience in food manufacturing and quality systems. In this role, Chandler oversees Log10’s Quality and Food Safety Management Systems, working collaboratively with laboratory and operations teams to ensure that all procedures are implemented accurately and updated in accordance with industry standards. Born in Iowa City, Iowa and raised in Clarion, Chandler also spent six formative years living abroad in Saudi Arabia. He enjoys traveling across the U.S. to visit his extended family and especially loves spending time with his nieces and nephew. Chandler holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Iowa State University and has developed extensive expertise in the manufacturing of food ingredients and consumer retail goods. He is certified in SQF, HACCP, ISO 17025, BRC, and FSSC 22000 systems and has deep experience in root cause analysis and documentation development. Having previously worked in both human and pet food operations, Chandler values Log10’s collaborative, close-knit environment and the shared commitment to excellence. He is deeply passionate about advancing food safety culture—not only within Log10 but across the broader industry. His goal is to ensure that every stakeholder understands their critical role in delivering safe, high-quality food products. |

Krystal DillClient Relations Manager
Krystal Dill joined Log10 in 2024 as the Business Office Manager and now serves as the Client Relations Manager. In this role, she serves as the main point of contact between clients and Log10, building relationships with key client contacts and working closely with internal teams to ensure alignment with client needs. Krystal also manages client services and product development projects, bringing her strong background in administrative and financial operations to support a seamless, client-focused experience. Originally from Newkirk, Oklahoma, Krystal is the proud mother of two children—a 16-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter—who are her greatest inspiration. She earned her Associate Degree from Cowley College in 2016 and built her career in the construction industry, where she advanced from Secretary to Accounts Payable Clerk during a seven-year tenure. After a brief career break, Krystal found her professional home at Log10. Krystal’s favorite part of her role is the steady, engaging pace of office operations. She is passionate about Log10’s mission to combat foodborne pathogens and spoilage, and takes pride in contributing to a company that plays a meaningful role in protecting public health. |
Santiago MolinaCulture Collection Manager
Santiago Molina joined Log10 in 2018 and currently serves as the Culture Collection Manager. Originally from Quito, Ecuador, Santiago is a first-generation immigrant with a strong passion for microbiology and food safety research. At Log10, he oversees the isolation, identification, and characterization of microorganisms for the company’s proprietary culture collection. He also leads various research initiatives, including shelf-life studies, process validation, forensic investigations, and the development and testing of probiotic formulations. Santiago manages the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database, ensuring accurate and efficient data tracking across projects. With a Biotechnology Engineering degree and a Master of Science in Plant Pathology with a focus on Food Microbiology, Santiago brings a strong academic foundation to his work. He also holds certifications in HACCP, ISO 17025, and Data Analysis. His dedication to scientific excellence has earned him recognition, including induction into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and a second-place award in the Graduate Student Oral Presentation Competition at Oklahoma State University’s Robert M. Kerr Food & Agricultural Products Center Research Symposium. Santiago’s favorite part of his role is learning new techniques and analyzing data to support evidence-based solutions. He is deeply passionate about Log10’s mission to provide expert research and testing services that advance safety and innovation in the food industry. Outside of the lab, he enjoys life with his rescue dog, Loki. |
Jennifer BrickleySr. Food Safety & Quality Systems Manager
Jennifer Brickley joined the Log10® team in 2025, bringing with her over 27 years of food industry experience—more than two decades of which had been dedicated to Ready-to-Eat (RTE) human food manufacturing, with an additional 6.5 years in the pet food sector. Jennifer’s career spans leadership roles in food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance across top-tier facilities and brands. Most recently, she served as Director of Food Safety and Quality for Instinct Pet Food, where she led FSMA implementation, SQF certification, and environmental monitoring programs that dramatically improved food safety outcomes and reduced non-conformances. Her strength lies in translating complex food safety systems into practical, actionable processes on the plant floor. Jennifer has a passion for teaching and empowering clients to improve their food safety culture through hands-on, science-based strategies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Penn State University and is certified in HACCP, FSMA/PCQI, SQF, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and Commercial Food Sanitation and Hygienic Design.
